One of the largest population of the ethnic groups residing in Chitwan is the Tharus. They have a unique culture and lifestyle. The locals living in the villages of Chitwan performing a dance showcasing the culture, art, and lifestyle of themselves is what is in store for your welcome and is called the Tharu dance. The local performers wearing their ethnic dresses perform and welcome you to know their culture, their place and themselves well by performing the dance prominently using Dhols and Tharu sticks throughout the performance. Each dance performed during the event has a deep-rooted meaning which shows the harmony between the people and the wildlife that surrounds them.
